Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12/31/2025
Your privacy is critically important to us. At Stenogram, we have a few fundamental principles:
- We don't ask you for personal information unless we truly need it.
- We don't share your personal information with anyone except to comply with the law, develop our products, or protect our rights.
- We don't store personal information on our servers unless required for the on-going operation of one of our services.
1. Information We Collect
We collect email addresses when you sign up for an account. This is used for authentication, account management, and to communicate with you about your account and the product. We do not sell your email address to third parties.
2. Payment Processing
We use a third-party merchant of record to process all payments. When you purchase a license, your payment information is handled securely by them. We do not store or process your credit card information on our servers. The merchant of record is responsible for tax collection and compliance for your purchase.
3. Data Storage
Stenogram is designed to be a local-first application. Your meeting notes, transcripts, and audio recordings are stored locally on your device. We do not sync your sensitive meeting data to our servers.
4. Usage of AI Models
To provide transcription and summarization features, Stenogram may process data locally on your device. If you opt-in to using cloud-based AI features, specific data (such as audio snippets or text) may be sent to third-party providers for processing. This data is not retained by us or the third-party providers for training purposes.
5. Analytics
We collect anonymous usage data to help us improve the app. This includes information such as crash reports, feature usage statistics, and performance metrics. This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify you personally or access your private content.
6. Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons.
7. Contact Us
